Healthy and Delicious Wraps for On-the-Go Eating

Wraps are a convenient and tasty option for busy days when you need a quick meal. They’re easy to customize with your favorite ingredients and perfect for packing on the go. This recipe keeps things simple and fresh, with a few steps you can easily follow. Plus, using an air fryer can add a nice touch of warmth and crispiness.

Ingredients

  • 2 large whole wheat tortillas
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or sliced
  • 1/2 cup hummus or Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup mixed salad greens
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup sliced cucumber
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Lay each tortilla flat on a clean surface.
  2. Spread about 2 tablespoons of hummus or Greek yogurt evenly over each tortilla.
  3. Place half of the chicken evenly on each tortilla.
  4. Add mixed greens, shredded carrots, cucumber slices, and feta cheese on top of the chicken.
  5. Season with a little salt and pepper, then drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Roll the tortilla tightly into a wrap, folding in the sides as you go to keep the filling inside.
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Place the wraps seam side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wraps are golden and slightly crispy.
  9. Remove carefully and let cool for a minute before slicing in half and serving.

Tips or Variations

  • Swap chicken for turkey, tofu, or beans for different protein options.
  • Try adding sliced avocado or a spoonful of salsa for extra flavor.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can warm the wraps in a skillet or oven until slightly crispy.
  • Use spinach or tomato basil tortillas to change up the look and taste.
  • For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce or sprinkle some chili flakes inside before rolling.
  • Prepare the wraps the night before and store them in the fridge for a quick grab-and-go meal the next day.
