Simple and Delicious Taco Recipes for Any Night

Tacos are a quick and tasty meal that can be enjoyed any night of the week. With endless possibilities for fillings and toppings, they are perfect for both busy weeknights and relaxed dinners. This simple recipe uses an air fryer to make cooking even easier and faster.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: sliced jalapeños, avocado, chopped onions

Steps

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook the ground beef or chicken until browned.
  3. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning with ¼ cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes until well combined.
  4. Warm the tortillas in the air fryer for about 1-2 minutes, just until soft and pliable.
  5. Assemble the tacos by spooning the meat mixture onto each tortilla.
  6. Top with shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and any other preferred toppings.
  7. Return the assembled tacos to the air fryer for 3-4 minutes to melt the cheese and crisp the edges.
  8. Serve with sour cream and salsa on the side.

Tips or Variations

  • For a vegetarian option, replace the meat with seasoned black beans or cooked lentils.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice on top for extra zest.
  • Try using corn tortillas for a gluten-free version.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like Monterey Jack or pepper jack for varied flavor.
  • If you prefer a spicier taco, include diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Leftover taco filling can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer for best results.
