Mouthwatering Tacos You Can Make in 30 Minutes or Less
Tacos are a quick and delicious meal that’s perfect for any day of the week. With just a few simple ingredients and an easy cooking method, you can enjoy mouthwatering tacos in 30 minutes or less. This recipe uses an air fryer to make the process even faster and cleaner, giving you crispy, flavorful results without the fuss.
Ingredients
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning or 2 tablespoons homemade seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup salsa or chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Cooking spray or a small amount of oil
Steps
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until soft, about 3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef or chicken to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water (about 1/4 cup). Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens and is well coated.
- Lightly spray both sides of the tortillas with cooking spray. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Heat for 1-2 minutes to warm and slightly crisp them.
- Fill each tortilla with the cooked meat mixture, then top with shredded cheese.
- Return the filled tacos to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
- Remove from the air fryer and add lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and salsa or cilantro as desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your quick and tasty tacos!
Tips or Variations
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with seasoned black beans or cooked lentils.
- Try adding sliced jalapeños or hot sauce if you like your tacos spicy.
- Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option, or flour tortillas for a softer texture.
- Mix in diced bell peppers with the meat for extra color and flavor.
- Leftover taco filling can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and used for taco salads or burritos.
