SpaceX significantly increased its purchases of Tesla’s Megapack battery systems in the second quarter as it works to supply power for its artificial intelligence data centers, according to recent reports.
CNBC reported that SpaceX ramped up Megapack purchases in Q2 with the goal of powering AI data center operations. Investor’s Business Daily separately reported that SpaceX bought $295 million worth of Tesla Megapacks during the quarter.

Megapack is Tesla’s large, utility-scale energy storage product designed to store electricity for later use and help stabilize power delivery.
